Why Join the LWV?

Join the League of Women Voters, a respected, national grassroots organization.

Members of the LWV, an active group of women and men of all ages and backgrounds, work on issues which make a difference locally, statewide, and nationally. You too can help make democracy work.

You can:

  • Act as a force for positive change in our communities and in our democracy
  • Help shape the LWV's policy positions
  • Empower citizens to vote and make informed public policy decisions

Who Can Be a Member?

Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to all men and women. Voting Members are US citizens at least 18 years old who have paid dues or who are Life Members. In addition, those who are under 18 or non-citizens and have paid dues can become Associate Members.

  • Have been League members for 50 or more years
  • Dues are free
  • Can vote in local, state and national LWV meetings
