What figures are used to determine
PMP?
Each local League's official
membership count is the basis for calculating PMP. Your League's official
membership count is established on February 1 of each year on the summary
sheet for your League on the LWVUS database. These are the same figures
that LWVUS uses to calculate PMP. The summary sheet membership count is
based on the updates and changes you make to the LWVUS online membership
database through January 31. See Membership Updates for more information on updating your online database.
What dates does PMP apply to?
The February 1 count is used
to calculate the following fiscal year's PMP, which runs from July to
June. For example, your Feb. 1, 2006 membership count will determine the
amount of PMP you will owe LWVOR (and LWVUS) for the July 1, 2006 –
June 31, 2007 fiscal year. One-quarter of your LWVOR PMP, is due each
quarter on July 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1. Your use of the
PMP payment forms will assist
in keeping accurate records of your payments.
How is PMP calculated?
Your LWVOR PMP obligation is
$25 per individual or first household member and $12.50 per second household
member and student. You are not charged for national and honorary members.
Can PMP be paid with EF donations?
You may pay up to one-quarter
of your LWVOR PMP to the LWVOR Education Fund instead of directly to LWVOR,
thus giving some of your members or donors the benefit of an income tax
deduction. The payment of such “in-lieu PMP” should be made
by a check from the member or donor (not from your League) payable to
LWVOREF and forwarded by you to the State office or by a transfer from
your Local League Grant Fund. See Guidelines for Local League Grant Program and the Education
Fund Contribution Form for more information.
Where can I get more information?

League Planning Guide. Contact the LWVOR
