Who is eligible to vote?
To register to vote in Oregon you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Oregon, and at least 17 years old. If you turn 18 by the next Election Day you can vote in that election. If not, you can still register, and your name will be kept on file.
See Voter Registration for High School Students or the Secretary of State's Voting in Oregon Guide for more information.
How to register to vote or update your registration
You must register to
vote in order to get a ballot. You can download a voter
registration form that you can print out and mail to your county
elections office. This site provides addresses of all county
elections offices, at which printed voter registration forms are
available. You can also obtain printed forms from a Department
of Motor Vehicles (DMV) location.
For new voters
If you are a new voter,
a new Oregon law requires that if you are mailing in your registration
form, you must include identification to show that you are a resident
of Oregon. The Secretary of State's Voting in Oregon guide and voter registration information provide information
on what constitutes acceptable identification.
