League of Women Voters
of Oregon was established in 1920 to provide education and action
on a wide variety of local, state, national, and international issues,
including elections, governmental reform, and natural resources.
League of Women Voters
of Oregon Education Fund
In 1980, our Education
Fund was created to provide increased service to Oregonians in education
and voter service. The League of Women Voters of Oregon Education
Fund functions under the auspices of the League of Women Voters
of Oregon, but legally exists as a discrete 501(c) (3) organization
under the Internal Revenue Code and therefore contributions can
be considered tax-deductible. The Education Fund never advocates
and never lobbies. It exists to provide impartial information to
Oregonians, and its finances are kept strictly separate from the
side of the League that participates in advocacy. Both organizations
are nonpartisan. For more information,
see Advocacy and Education.
