JUNIPER ROOK (she/her)

Youth Council Member
Youth Council Member

We warmly welcome Juniper Rook, a senior at Redmond Proficiency Academy, planning to pursue political science at an out-of-state university and then possibly attend law school.

Juniper advocates for stricter gun safety legislation and laws across my home state of Oregon and works to inspire youth to get involved in political action. Her organizing and issue-based experience began when Juniper planned her first walkout in 2018 at age 12, and ever since has been heavily involved in advocating for stricter gun laws and safer schools statewide. She has worked closely with March for Our Lives and recently campaigned with “Yes on Measure 114” to help push Measure 114 in youth spaces. To further increase awareness for passing Measure 114, Juniper planned a statewide walkout under her political action group called “Fear Free Schools”, with approximately 10 Oregon schools able to participate and feels a definite stake in the commitment of our state and local Leagues to encourage youth leadership in the causes they care about.
